    THIS INDENTURE made the first day of May in the year of our Lord, One thousand seven hundred and ninety three BETWEEN Joel Campbell and Abigail his wife, Nathaniel Campbell and Phoebe his wife, Reuben Campbell and Lydia his wife, Obadia Norris and Mary his wife, these being of the Town of Mamacatting yeomen; Levi Campbell and Elizabeth his wife, Nathan Campbell and Lucretia his wife, of the Town of Montgomery yeomen; Jonathan Campbell and Mary his wife and Daniel Campbell, yeomen, of the Town of Shawangunk, being all of the County of Ulster and State of New York and the surviving heirs of Samuel Campbell Sen. late of the Town of Montgomery aforesaid deceased of the first part; and Thomas Barkley of the said Town of Montgomery of the second part.

    WITNESSETH that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred seventy Pounds lawful Money of New York currency to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Barkley the receipt whereof is here by acknowledged they the said parties of the first part have granted, bargained (and sold) aliened, released, and confirmed and by these presents do fully freely and absolutely grant bargain and sell, alien release and confirm, unto the said Thomas Barkley (in his actual possession now being) and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain lot piece or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the Town of Montgomery being part of a Tract granted by Patent to Archibald Kennedy. The said lot piece or parcel of land hereby granted or meant to be hereby granted and conveyed was formerly granted by Thomas Goldsmith to David Baldwin, who granted the same to the above named Samuel Campbell Sen. and is butted and bounded as followeth that is to say

    BEGINNING at the Stake in the Highway leading to Goodwill Church being the northeastery corner of land belonging to James Richey and runs thence (nearly as the compass now points) along his Line North eighty seven Degrees West teen Chains to a Stake set up in a Swamp and runs thence as the compass pointed when the said land was first laid out North ten Degrees East twenty eight Chains then North fifty six Degrees East eight Chains and fifty Links then North sixty nine Degrees East three Chains and sixty Links then North twenty six Degrees East four Chains and sixty Links then South fifty four Degrees East four Chains and sixty Links to the said Highway then along the same North thirty five Degrees East about five Chains or to John Winants corner then along his Bounds (as the compass pointed when it was run in the year 1788) South eighty six Degrees and thirty minutes East three Chains and forty five Links to a Stake and heap of Stones, then North thirty three Degrees and thirty minutes East three Chains and fifty Links to the line of the land belonging to the heirs of Alexander Millikin deceased and then along the same (as the compass formerly pointed) South eighty five Degrees East, ten Chains and six Links to the easternmost bounds of the land, then along the line thereof South fifteen Degrees West thirty five Chains and twenty Links to the land belonging to John McCay, then along his Line North eighty five Degrees West fifteen Chains and seventy five Links to the said Highway then along the same South eight Degrees West five Chains and seventy five Links then South thirty eight Degrees West five Chains and twenty one Links to the place of Beginning containing One hundred Acres of land more or less with the rights members and appurtenances thereof; Together with all and singular the emoluments, hereditaments profits commodities and advantages to the same belonging, or in any wise appertaining; And also the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, rents and services of all and singular the said granted premises with the appurtenances; And also all the estate right, title claim and demand whatsoever of them the said parties of the first part as well in equity as in law of in and to all and singular the said hereby granted premises and of every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Lot piece or parcel of land, hereditaments and premises above mentioned and described and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Barkley his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Thomas Barkley his heirs and assigns forever. And the said parties of the first part do hereby jointly and severally for themselves their heirs executors and administrators, covenant and grant to and with the said Thomas Barkley his heirs and assigns that they the said parties of the first part now are (at and immediately before the sealing of delivery of these presents) the true lawful and rightful owners of all and singular the said hereby granted premises above mentioned with the appurtenances, and lawfully and rightfully seised in their own right of a good sure perfect absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple of and in all and singular the said premises above mentioned with the appurtenances without any manner of condition mortgage limitation of use or uses or other matter cause or thing to alter change charge or determine the same; And also that they the said parties of the first part, now have good right full power and lawful authority in their own right to grant, bargain sell and convey, all and singular the said premises above mentioned with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Barkley his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Thomas Barkley his heirs assigns forever, according to the true intent and meaning of these presents. IN WITNESS whereof the said parties have hereunto interchangeably put their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

    Be it remembered that on the twenty sixth day of December of the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety four personally appeared before me Nathan Smith first Judge of the Court of commons pleas for the County of Ulster, James Fulton, who being duly sworn by me saith that he saw Jonathan Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Reuben Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Joel Campbell, Nathaniel Campbell being parties mentioned in the within Indenture, Sign Seal and deliver the within Indenture, as their voluntary act and deed for the use therein mentioned; and that he subscribed his name as a Witness thereto, and I having inspected the same, do find no material Rasures or Interlinations therein but what are taken notice of before Signing and Delivery, therefore do allow the same to be recorded.
